Streeter Family Reunion - Burley

Burley Idaho ... kind of a funny location for a family reunion! But it checked all the boxes - it was on the river, had plenty of room, was driving distance from Cody, and was the right price!

The boat drivers were busy this week. There were lots of people who wanted to go tubing - and a couple who wanted to ski.

The cousins all had very different adventure levels.

Torin and Treycen had very calm (and short) rides.

Meanwhile, Jacob and Breckin wanted to be pushed to the very edge (and sometimes a little more than that!)

I'm not sure if Kate and Bentley even noticed that they were on the tube - they were just giggling the entire time! Okay, that's not quite true - they had some fun out there!

Liam doesn't have a male cousin his age, so he has to be creative with his tubing partners. He typically spent time with his older cousins.
Liam especially loved riding in the tube with Mana. When Mana and Liam get into the 2-person tube, there's only one direction the tube will tip over!

We had quite a few good ski days, especially in the mornings. A few days that were a little windier, but we all got good time behind the boat.

Jacob liked taking long ski runs - and playing a bit behind the boat!

There was also a lot of non-motorized time on the river. Jared especially spent a lot of time on the river on a paddleboard (no surprise).

Sometimes, as a way to get a little extra time, Jared would take little nephews and nieces out on paddleboard rides. It was just another excuse for him to be out on the paddleboard on the river!

We went for a lot of paddles out on the river, going up river, down river, across the river, and just around the dock.

There were also some kayaks that people would go out on

and a pedal boat that the kids mainly used (parents have figured out that pedal boats are actually a lot of work!).

One night we did tinfoil dinners and smores by the lake as the sun set.

One day, Jared and Jacob went and played some golf. It was fun to get out and play together. The course was pretty flat and open, but that was perfect for us!

As usual, Liam LOVED spending time with uncle Travis. They did a lot of fishing off the dock and in the river - sometimes all the way . Travis taught Liam how to put lures on the line and had to then find them tangled in the riverside trees! Liam caught quite a few throughout the course of the week!

When we were inside, there was a lot of game playing. One of the favorites was this little snake game that you would take gold from the rattle snake until the snake snaps at you. Kaci's reaction was especially funny the first time she did it and was completely startled!

There were LOTS of fun pictures throughout the week.

We wore our new family reunion t-shirts for a bunch of family pictures

In between the Reunions - Part 1

We had a couple days between the Walters Aspen Grove reunion and the Streeter reunion, and we again made the most of it!

First stop, on the way down the canyon, was to Bridal Veil Falls.

We went to Midvale to visit our friends Eric and Tamara Battles and their family. Jared joined Eric on a Zoom call with Lucas for old times' sake!

Torin and Gray were happy to reconnect and had a great time together.

We walked down to their neighborhood pond and went swinging on the rope swing.

We stayed with Matt and Amber, and in the morning, Jacob and Jared took a run a little ways up Rock Canyon

In the afternoon, the boys met Sid and went to the arcade together. It was funny to watch the dance battle between Jacob and Sid.

The had various battles going throughout the time at the arcade.

Liam and Torin especially liked the shooter games! I think Liam could live at an arcade.

Afterwards, we all went over to play a few holes of disc golf (we ended after about 5 holes - it was HOT!), then Jarom took a short cut off road (which, of course, just added to Sid's lore in the eyes of the kids) to get back to Amber's house.

Aspen Grove - Part 2

Group time - another of the AWESOME parts of Aspen Grove! The teenagers had such a fun camp counselor and such a tight-knit group. Where one was, typically there would be 5-10 near by!

Cousin time is a great time too. The crowd of Jensen cousins is growing - both in number and size! Nana and Papa love being surrounded by so many little (and used-to-be little ones!)

Meals are a lot of fun at Aspen Grove. The round tables enabled us to mix up groups to eat with each meal. The food was good too!

The 6 15-year-olds reenacted a picture from when they were infants when Jacob, Claire, and Sydney were all blessed in Jackson Wyoming.

They are a lot bigger now!!!

Jacob and Claire continued to be good friends with their 2nd cousin Mason. We want to figure a way to get them together outside of these family reunions!

Liam got to shoot a rifle. He did pretty well! And he also got to play laser tag. And climb around on the ropes high adventure course. He was seriously in heaven all week doing all the outdoorsy stuff he loves.

We found a time to rent bikes and go up above Aspen Grove to bike a few loops. It brought back memories of biking up here during college.

Aspen Grove is such a beautiful place!
