We've had a fun few weeks of eating and cooking firsts. We bought a pasta roller a few months ago and finally got around to trying it. Maybe we were a little inspired by the delicious pasta we ate in Italy! We were a little nervous when the only ingredients were egg and flour!
Claire was an excited helper. She helped roll and stretch the dough. In the end, the pasta turned out pretty good, but it tasted great!
A few weeks later, we decided to try out another favorite dish from our Europe trip - from the meal we had in Santorini. We made some Greek moussaka and some baked feta - both were amazing - almost as good as the first time we ate them (though without the incredible view).
We went out to a Korean barbecue. It turns out, we were one of the few Caucasians in the restaurant, which we took as a good sign. We had some good meats, interesting sides, and a unique seafood stew.
A few weeks later, we took a culinary trip to Jared's mission, going to a local Portuguese restaurant. The linguica flambe was a fun dish to watch and eat, and the rest of the meal was just as tasty. After dinner, we went to a new dessert place, Pix, and, even though almost all of their desserts had been sold out, the ones we had were amazing and worth a return visit!
We love eating in Portland, for sure!
