Playing in the rain

Jared was walking in the hall upstairs, when he noticed it was pouring in a very unusual way for Portland, so he ran down the stairs calling the kids to come see and hauling Torin out with him. After a few minutes of watching the rain falling, Jared carried Torin out into it, wondering what his reaction would be to rain falling on his head. He loved it - and immediately wanted to get down and run around. He ran straight to the end of the driveway and ran back and forth, barefoot, in the gutter, full of water.

The other kids soon joined with an array of boots (Kate in Dani's!) and rain coats, and Claire fastidiously cleared leaves from all around by putting them in the moving water.
 

It was a fun and memorable time for everyone!
