Halloween

Halloween festivities were fun as ever. Torin got dressed down for to scoop out his pumpkin. Of course, Troin wanted his pumpkin to be Aragog, as is his obsession.

He was pretty thrilled with the result that Dani carved for him.

The other kids were all in charge of their own pumpkin carving and designs, and their personalities shone through their choices.

Liam knew exactly what design he was going for, but to the rest of it, it was kind of abstract art.

Claire made a moping face?

Kate made a cat, and Jacob made a HI message, we think.

As always, Precoa got completely decked out for Halloween! There was an entire pirate ship

and Kings Crossing Platform 9 3/4, and Jared's accounting department decided to be the game of PacMan, with Jared in a PacMan outfit, with pillow added, as usual.

The kids always like the Precoa Halloween party!

Dani made Jared's PacMan we went as PacMan and Mrs PacMan.

For trick or treating night, the Tibbits came and joined us for trick or treating through Canyon Creek.

Soccer Season

Kate and Liam played their secon seasons of soccer and had a great time. They had a fun little team, and Kate scored a few goals and celebrated hers and her teammates with gusto!

Jared had a great time coaching this team. There were tears most practices for the first month or so (many of them Jake and Jack-inflicted injuries on one another!), but it was fun to have friends from the neighborhood and church, and the kids became good friends and were a pretty good soccer team.

After practice, we need to move the goals to the side of the baseball field for the field maintenance crew. The boys like to help.

Jacob played with many of the same guys he's been on a team with for years. They did split the team apart a bit, and Jacob's team wasn't great, but they had fun. And they discovered "The Great Wall of Yussef!"

Claire's team had a fun season, too. They weren't great either, but she had a good time.

The kids are well-equipped to be at the soccer field for hours at a time. Dani has a kit of things to do and blankets and chairs to sit on that she keeps in the Yukon all fall!

Liam is a pro at after-game treats, slamming 2 juice squeezes at the same time!

Bauman Farm

Bauman Farms does the pumpkin patch experience right, for sure! Every year we go, we spend hours there and just love it! There are rides for everyone. This year, Torin was big enough to go on the zip line.

but he still liked going on the big barn swings with his older sibs.

There are both indoor and outdoor slides

inflatable obstacle courses, the jump pillow, apple cannons,

and numerous mazes and obstacle courses.

There are trikes, a petting zoo area, an apple tasting station, a ladybug train, and a hazelnut pit. They also decorate for the season with haybales.

Liam has been into "protecting" recently, deciding he wants to join the armed forces some day. "Protecting is important!" he declares, so he needed a picture next to the Army and Air Force decorations.

Their porta potty lineup, with the poop emoji was cracking us up!

As always, a visit to Bauman Farms isn't complete without a fresh pumpkin doughnut.

Bend trip with Nana and Papa

Nana and Papa came to visit for a week

One big Sunday accomplishment - building legos all the way to the ceiling!

The highlight of the visit was our trip to Sunriver. One day, we took a trip to Bend and walked on the trial along the river.

We had bikes and would bike all around the Sunriver resort. There are trails all over the place and rocks and playgrounds, and we explored as many as we could find.

Another day, we went caving in a lava tube cave called Boyd Cave. The entrance was through the roof of the cave, down some steep metal stairs.

We trekked a ways back into the cave. Once we got a long ways back, we decided to turn off all the lights. Torin really didn't like the complete darkness very much!

It was fun and memorable.

We went to the High Desert Museum and saw the history, habitats, and animals. It was a beautiful museum!
