New Years 2020

We spent New Years Eve with most of the people we've been spending most of the year with - our family. Caitlin brought over an edible work of art!.

We celebrated New Years in our tradition, with fondue! As usual, we had a delicious cheese fonude with bread, veggies, and sausage and the followed that with a broth fondue with shrimp, chicken, and steak.

We topped it off with a peanut butter chocolate dessert fondue - yummy! It is amazing how stuffed we can get with fondue!

We counted all the way down to 2021, hearing everyone talk about how excited they were for 2021 and how different it would be.

When it hit 2021, we made a lot of noise.

a LOT!

Disc Golf at Winton Woods

We got a nice sunny day that wasn't super cold, so we decided to go for an outing to Winton Woods to play some disc golf. We too the entire gang.

Nana joined our game too!

We found a little place for Torin to hang out before his throw.

Some of the group decided to play all 18. Jared used his UDisc app and recorded a -23! Okay, maybe the par ratings on the

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent at Nana's house with Budge and Linda and Andrew and Caitlin. As usual, we had a musical program. Torin was not going to be left out of the musical show, so he led off with Joy to the World on the lap harp.

Liam had pieces prepared on both his cello and the piano.

Claire had a piano piece

and Claire played one on the violin. Jared accompanied Jacob on the french horn - they were both happy about that. It was a great little program.

Our pageant was had all the important characters, including Mary, Joseph, and the donkey (Jacob always plays the donkey)

Torin sat patiently waiting for his cue.

Kate was a very expressive angel!

The bells were a rousing experience downstairs. They were led by uncle Andrew, who was a little overwhelmed at the cacaphony that followed each song (hint... it wasn't Budge)!

The new pajamas!

As we left Nana's Jared decided it was a White Christmas!!!

We love the look of our family room all decorated up for Christmas.

and, as we normally do, we wrapped our kids up into their rooms!

Holiday doings

December 2020 saw an increase in COVID cases, so we were back in pretty distanced activities again. So, instead of live nativities, it was back to drive-throughs. We did a drive-through nativity at Prasco Park (after a LONG wait to get in!) and Loveland.

The kids put on a nativity scene with blocks and Legos (including a star over the stable) for our Sunday Come Follow Me study.

Claire's YW class had a virtual cooking activity with all the girls on a Zoom call while they were cooking. Jared did the same with the priests earlier.

Andrew and Caitlin volunteered to cook Sunday dinner. He chose to make a pickle-brined fried chicken sandwich on a pretzel roll bun at Nana's - a brave move, but it turned out great!

Our Christmas tree looked great!

and so did the boys, which they made with a wrapping paper roll and some old garland.

A masked Santa was added this year. The one that Dani ordered (on the right) was not the first one that was sent (on the left). Jared kept spinning creepy-eyes masked santa for fun.

We love Christmas time!
