Date night with Towners and Blackwelders

A fun date night with the Blackwelders and the Towners over at the Blackwelders home started with some delicious tacos and involved a number of hilarious minute to win it games! First, junk in the trunk - we don't remember who won, but definitely twerking was not Jared and Dani's forte!

Dani won the award in the rubber band shooting - not for accuracy, but for the funniest faces made! We would have thought the native Wyoming girl would have done a little better at shooting.

We went digging for worms in our last game diving into a big pile of whipping cream. I guess we only got pictures of Dani

except this one of Christian!

The evening ended with some relaxing in the hot tub. It was a fun time hanging out with them for the first time!

Fall Fun

Teenagers at Halloween trunk or treat

We added an extension to the driveway! It will make having a 3rd car in the driveway a little easier. No handprints or names were left!

Hanging with papa.

General Conference - and Torin is taking notes!

With Jacob and Claire going to get their learners permits, it was finally time for Jared to get a new car! He chose a 2018 Audi Q5.

The minion is so nice to not have the steam from the Instant Pot going up to the ceiling, and Kate thinks it is .

Brushes are left everywhere! Sometimes, they are all left on the stairs. Other times, they are left on couches, in couch cushions, in cars, on the stools, under the ping pong table, etc. But rarely in the drawer!

Halloween pumpkin carvings - pretty impressive!

The Cincinnati skyline can be very beautiful both morning, at sunrise, and at night with the city lights.

Claire LOVES mustard! She likes it so much that she likes to make artwork with it. She will make faces on both slices of bread just so she can have extra mustard.

As we neared Thanksgiving, Kate had an assignment to dress up a turkey. Kate made it a granny with poofy hair and a purse!

Sealed in Raleigh

After much anticipation, Andrew and Caitlin were sealed in Raleigh, NC.

They had a nice reception for friends and family at a park next to a lake. Some Carolina BBQ and a bunch of mini pies plus siblings, cousins, and friends. What a fun night it was!

The next day, we went out to a food hall in Raleigh. It was Jared's dream dinner spot - a little of everything from lots of different restaurants! Some ate inside, others ate outside.

Since it was October, the grandkids all brought Halloween costumes for some hotel trick or treating.

It was a beautiful ceremony, and we were all so happy for Caitlin and Andrew. As is tradition, the little cousins all got the first excited hugs!

It was a beautiful day for a wedding, and we got a lot of great pictures.

We got lots and lots of pictures in all sorts of combinations of cousins, siblings, selfies, and spouses!

We all eventually found a good spot for all the cousins to congregate in the shade.

The reception that evening was at the building that Caitlin and Andrew spent a lot of time in - their church and institute building. It has a large lawn (it used to be a golf clubhouse!) and lots of good space for the event. Our family had a couple great picture!

and Andrew had an instant classic picture!

Liam, meanwhile, was holding court with Caitlin's dad and brothers. He was sharing with him all his invention ideas, and they were all thoroughly entertained!

One of the highlights was the dance party.

The Jensens were out in full force - Papa was out cutting a rug, just loving life, and T's boys were so excited.

Claire and Kate loved being out there, and Liam (and his famous "footwork") challenged one Andrew's friends to a dance battle through an entire song! it was intense and hilarious - and was all Liam could talk about for the rest of the weekend.

What creeps Torin out

What creeps Torin out? "I theek my bruthr not shawreeg is buscusteeg! I feule licke my bruthr is steckeege uop my haws"

Translation: "I think my brother not showering is disgusting! I feel like my brother is stinking up my house"

So great!!!

Learners permits

These 2 15.5 year-olds just got their learners permits!

Dani took them to the church parking lot for their first times driving. A few things that Dani didn't realize that she needed to teach:
- If the car is in gear, the car will go forward if one takes their foot off the brake pedal
- You only use 1 foot to drive and automatic transmission, not 2
- Put your foot on the brake to put the car into gear
- How to turn the key to turn the car on
- General turning, acceleration, braking!

It's an exciting time!
