Aspen Grove

Aspen Grove is such a beautiful setting in the mountains. We absolutely love to come here for a fun week!

One of the things we love most is how much time we get to spend together. There was a lot of fun games and fun activities that were done in the lobby of the residence building and throughout Aspen Grove. One that was fun was watching the ladies stretching and yoga! It is a lot of fun staying up late and talking and laughing with cousins.

One of the highlights was the high ropes course. It was a lot of fun! Jared and Dani joined with Jacob, Alisha, and other cousins and got to spend a lot of time climbing around. Some of the obstacles were especially hard - Jared thought the green balls were tough.

Jacob and Claire got to do it one day with their group, too, and they had a lot of fun too.

After the kids program, they invited people up to dance. Liam was completely owning it center stage with his serious dance face!

There was extra time to just have fun together. Whether it was athletic events (like a badmitton tournament), a run up the Alpine Loop that reminded us how high the altitude and steep incline are, laser tag, the Aspen Follies, or one of so many other activites, it was an amazing week.

The kids love their groups - Jacob and Claire in the Cougars (10-11), Kate and Liam in the Bobcats (6), and Torin in the Stompers (3).

One day that Dani was unfortunately sick, Jared went mountain biking with Devin and Alisha. We got some great bikes at Sundance and went for a fun ride.

At one point, Alisha had a great endo! She was okay, but I got a nice picture of the aftermath.

It was a beautiful, sunny day, and there were lots of great vistas.

One of our favorite things to do is the frontier games. There is an entire afternoon that the staff puts on all kinds of fun frontier-themed games. The games included things like pellet gun shooting, axe throwing, tire rim rolling, and other fun games.

One of the activities at the Frontier Games was a pie eating contest, though I'm not sure what that has to do with the frontier. Liam competed in the kids version and dove straight in.

Jared was an excited participant int he adults contest. Notice how clean his plate is compared to all the others!

After another successful couple weeks, we had a beautiful drive home, listening to more Harry Potter!
