Aspen Grove - Part 1

One of the parts of Aspen Grove that we love is the ropes course. Both the adults and the teenagers got a couple different times

We got to watch Liam explore the ropes. It was a little different for him a few different times because the higher wire was above his reach, but he did a great job!

There are lots of different obstacles. Cargo net, various types of crossings to walk, jump, balance, or swing across.

Taylor took on the wall with the moveable handholds

and the wall won this round! That one was particularly hard!

Dani had a great time both times. Another that was hard is in the background of this picture - the green balls. Those took a lot of patience and upper body strength! Dani didn't love those ones - but she got across them successfully!

Aspen Follies, as always, were a big hit. The Walters family is so big that we split into lots (5-6?) of groups.

The teens (and teens in training) had their own group. It was hilarious to watch them all over the field.

in all their various personalities!

The games are the same as always - the big parachute with the rubber chickens, the giant ball up the hill, the holy garbage can with water, etc. and - the Grand Canyon!

All the kids did their songs and talent show

At some point during the talent show, a couple moose were discovered in the Aspen Grove fishing pond!

We had a nice time as an entire family getting together to go over some family stories and share memories.

We also had some games of packing tape rolled candy, which you had to wear oven mitts to unwrap. It was pretty wild!

Kate and Liam got to celebrate another birthday at Aspen Grove with a special cake made by the Lilly Lefrandt, the daughter of our friend Jon. It was a beautiful and delicious cake!

These girls loved getting dole whips together. And basically doing everything else together the entire week!

Torin loved the playground!

One of our favorite things to do is play laser tag in the old A frame cabins. We had some awesome games running around!

Frontier Games at Aspen Grove was like a dream for Liam! First, axe throwing!

There were some epic 2-man log father/son competitions.

And archery - Liam was shooting pretty well

and Matt McDonald was a pretty good shot with an arrow!

We love Aspen Grove for all of its unique and fun activities.
